Yes — former Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) holders can claim their entire super balance once they have departed Australia and the visa has expired or been cancelled. Like the 417, the 462 is a working holiday visa, so DASP tax of 65% is withheld by legislation. Complete applications are typically paid within about 28 days.
Same rules as the 417 — same money left behind
The 462 covers travellers from countries like the USA, Chile, Argentina, China, Indonesia, Spain and many more. Whatever brought you here — hospitality in Sydney, harvest work for your second year, a season in the snow — your employers were required to pay 12% superannuation on top of your wages, usually into whichever fund they defaulted you into.
That is why 462 holders so often have two or three small accounts they have never seen a statement for. We find all of them, plus any money already transferred to the ATO, and claim the lot in one application for one flat $149 + GST.
What lands in your account
DASP tax for working holiday makers is 65%, set by law. On a typical $5,600 balance that leaves about $1,960, or roughly $1,796 after our fee — paid in about 28 days to your bank at home, in the US, South America, Asia or anywhere else. Use the estimator on our homepage for your own numbers.
Don't sit on it
Around six months after you leave and the visa ends, funds must hand unclaimed balances to the ATO. The money stays yours, but it stops earning fund returns (CPI interest only), and claiming it back involves the same paperwork — so claiming now simply gets it into your pocket sooner.

Common questions
Is the 462 taxed differently from the 417?
No. Both are working holiday visas, and both attract the legislated 65% DASP withholding tax. The claim process is identical.
Can my super be paid to a US or non-Australian bank account?
Yes. We collect your international account details including the SWIFT/BIC code, and the fund or ATO pays you directly. Your bank may apply its own currency conversion.
I did specified work for a second-year 462. More funds?
Very likely — regional and agricultural employers commonly use their own default funds. That is exactly the scenario our all-accounts search is for; it is included in the flat fee.
What if I am not sure my visa has ended?
Choose “not sure” in the form. Confirming your visa status with the Department of Home Affairs is part of every claim we lodge.
